On the 25thday of December, the itinerant exhibition of the 14thSouth Korea-China International Exchange Exhibition on Modern Arts was ceremoniously inaugurated in Jinghua Auditorium of Xijing University. The opening ceremony was attended by over 100 distinguished guests as well as teachers and students inside and outside the university.
The exhibition was hosted by Korea National Art Education Society, the Center for Public Art Education and the School of Design Art of Xijing University and College of Arts of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, undertaken by the Center for Public Art Education of Xijing University and supported by Art and Design College of Tianjin University of Science and Technology and the School of Design Art of Xijing University.
The Chinese plastic artists taking part in the series of activities in this exhibition came from Beijing, Tianjin, Xi’an, Hangzhou, Lianyungang, Liu’an and so on. All of them are young artists of real caliber from different regions and social fields in China. Over 80 works covering calligraphy, painting and design were showcased in the exhibition.
Although the works by Korean artists are characterized by the language and perspectives different from those by Chinese artists, they reflected different formats of plastic art, taste and level in a hierarchical way, which added radiance and beauty to the exchange exhibition and would supply a beautiful landscape for the China-Korea exchange and dissemination on modern art.
The exhibition was supported by units and media such as Baoji Branch of Northwest Painting and Calligraphy Institute, the Calligraphers’ Association of Liu’an, Wanxi Daily, Huang Gongwang Painting Academy in Tonglu, China Art Weekly, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy News, Fine Arts in Xizhi, Artron. The paintings and calligraphy works by ten teachers from our university including Ye Qisheng, Zhang Wenlong, Zhao Yao, Wei Yujing, Wang Yan, Chu Jing, Ma Qiang, Mi Gonghao, Li Guang and Ma Guoliang were showcased in this exhibition. Having been on the itinerant exhibition in the ROK, the Korea-China International Exchange Exhibition on Modern Art was planned to last a week before being on the itinerant exhibition in our country.
