On March 6, 2019, the signing ceremony of the program cooperation between Xijing University and United Cultures Innovation Center for International Cooperation (UCIC) was held in No.3 Conference Room. Li Xin, president of UCIC, Zhu Yan, program director in charge of the affairs in the area of China under UCIC, William August Becker, program leader of paid internship program of American culture and tourism management and Su Ming, executive vice president of Xijing Universtiy attended the signing ceremony participated in by Feng Qinghua, chief of the section responsible for matriculating overseas students under the Admissions Office of our university and He Hongliu, director of the center for language education under School of Foreign Languages and hosted by Xie Junping, dean of School of Foreign Languages.
At the signing ceremony, on behalf of our university, Su Ming extended his welcome and thanks to the visit paid by Li Xin and her party. In addition, he introduced to the distinguished guests the basic school-running situation of our university, including education, teaching, scientific research and development.
In return, Li Xin gave a brief introduction to the basic situation of UCIC, expressing the intention to set up cooperation relationship with our university. Both parties held talks about some aspects such as setup of specialties, student exchanges and details of program and exchanged opinions on preliminary cooperation. Both parties indicated that they will keep a close contact with each other and speed up the promotion of programs so as to explore the resource of good quality in a joint way.
Then, both parties held the signing ceremony and jointly signed the cooperation agreement between Xijing University and UCIC. They agreed to conduct in-depth cooperation in aspects such as talent training and student exchanges.
On the afternoon of that day, Prof. William August Becker held an teach-in about the exchange program of American culture and tourism management. The teach-in was attended by almost a hundred students who warmly communicated with the professor about the questions they are interested in.
Approved by the State Department of the US, the program of culture and tourism management of Virginia Wesleyan University is jointly rolled out by UCIC, VWU and Bush Gardens Amusement Park, Williamsburg. It is a program of cultural exchanges geared to the college students in China.
