Students from our university won prizes in the 15th China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge

From the 21st day to the 22nd day of July, a total of 11 teams composed of the students from three majors including automation, electrical engineering and automation and robot engineering in our university participated in the preliminary competition of the 15th China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge.

Jointly sponsored by Ministry of Education's Steering Committee on the Teaching of Automation in Higher Educational Institutions, Siemens Limited China and China Simulation Federation, this competition is mainly targeted at the college students of related specialties such as automation and mechanical-electrical integration across the country. Since 2006 when the competition was held, it has become the competition with the largest scale and the highest standard in the field of intelligent manufacturing in the country.

The preliminary competition entitled “the direction of discrete industry automation” was participated in by 96 teams from 23 higher learning institutions in Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shandong and Shanxi. 11 teams dispatched by our university achieved one first prize, four second prizes and two third prizes.

The preliminary competition entitled “twins of numerical control and digitization—direction of virtual debugging” was participated in by 68 teams from 29 higher learning institutions in eleven provinces and municipalities directly under the Central Government. The participants from our university clinched one first prize, four second prizes and two third prizes.

Characterized by integrating the goals of education including knowledge teaching, ability training and value building, “Siemens Cup” China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge is dedicated to effectively combining the elements of the ecology of educating students such as courses, teachers/tutors, offline platform and online platform and plays an important role in cultivating talented students in the fields of engineering application, design and development as well as innovation and research and development. The winning teams in this competition will reach the national final to be held in Huzhou of Zhejiang province in the last ten-day period of August.
